American vs British spelling and 'accent'

IS THIS WATER OR WATER...?

Spelling mistakes are just appalling but, what about spellings that are actually correct but are not recognised by others... Yesterday as I was reading through some comments in a blog +Fleur De Force, I noticed differences in the spelling of colour as I would spell it and others wrote color.
One of my friends at my school who is American always complains about my spellings. In a lecture room she would glance over my notes to get what she had missed and many a times she would be like, " That's not written like that!" Thanks to auto correcting tool she can do her assignments without worrying about spellings.
Just a while back we had an argument on how to pronounce the word water. She was the one who started it because I had said something like, "I need to have some water." (Of cause pronouncing the 't'). Then she was like, "Why do'you guys say wa't'er, it's wa'd'er!" I don't know whether they always pronounce 't' as 'd' or 'r'. So one of my friends who we were with at the time and I just wanted to provoke her so she could talk more coz we just love the accent. We were like, "Please spell that word first and pronounce it correctly because we can't see letter D there, it's a T."
At the end of the day we know what she means and how she pronounces words which is different from the way we do. She still remains to be our friend as much as we sometimes provoke her so that we can listen to her accent :) :) Have you ever been in an argument with someone because of pronunciation?

Don't touch my food

Please don't touch my food!

Is it just me or there are others like me with the same sentiments. "Please don't touch my food." If it's a mango, I can let you have a piece but, when it's food that is in my plate; please don't touch it. If you want to taste it or eat it, bring your own plate and I'll be more than happy to share.
By the way, one thing that my friends know me for is always sharing even when the food is little. I always say that the little that I have is what we will share... Some times my Mom and I argue about me not thinking of my stomach first LOL!
So, if you are one of those people who like eating from someone else's plate, it will not hurt to get your own plate and get your own food. Or if you want someone else' food in particular, don't reach out for it from their plate just ask them to put some in your own plate. It is just so annoying. A kid can be excused but has to be taught at an early stage though. Do you find this annoying?

Random

EVERYTHING IS JUST INTERESTING?
Do you ever wonder why some people are just so random? Maybe that's just the way they/we are. I find that being random makes the atmosphere around me lively. Blame it on my brain always wanting to look at things in different angels.
Being random can also be annoying especially when you are with someone who is not used to you. For example, we are in a restaurant eating and talking about food then all of a sudden I remember something funny that a lecturer said or something I saw, then in the middle of a conversation pop it out. If it's funny people will obviously laugh but I will have ended the previous conversation. I hate having to go back to what I was talking about and in most cases I forget. So I'm sure the person talking gets annoyed when someone says something random.
Ever since I realized this, I try to keep my mind in the conversation to avoid being random. What do you do to help with randomness? Do you have someone in your life who is random? It could be a friend, a kid...Everything is just interesting and needs to be talked about:) :)
